Hey guys! I wanted to do an updated diaper bag post because my little baby is almost 7 months old now and we’ve definitely stopped using some things and have added others.
Feel free to check out my previous what’s in my diaper bag post here, where I share the things I carried for a new pospartum mama and a newborn baby. There’s also new link for the exact leather backpack I use as a diaper bag – now only 34.99, linked here!
Diapers – I typically carry around 6 of these now, Lily is in a size 5 diaper and we just recently switched from Pampers to Luvs and we actually really like them – not to mention they are super inexpensive!
Wipes – So we only use the Costco pack wipes, they are huge but I do carry a whole pack of those with me.
Changing Pad – This little pad is STILL a favorite… It allows me to comfortably change my daughter in the back seat of my car, on the floor in the living room, or on a changing station in the restrooms without laying her directly down onto the germy table.
Hand Sanitizer – I still believe in washing your hands over hand sanitizer but since there isn’t always a sink and soap readily available, it’s better than using nothing – especially after changing your baby’s diaper and then handling your baby.
Pacifier Wipes – These have definitely come in handy especially since our little one LOVES to put everything in her mouth! Even if there was a sink available, I didn’t want to have to use the soap they usually have in the public restrooms… Who knows what kind of chemicals are in that?
Pacifier clip – So we actually don’t use the binky anymore but I do use the same clip to hold onto her toys now, plus this one is made of food grade silicone that your baby can use as teether – I know my little one loves to!
Toys/Teether – Our baby started teething around 3 months and she managed to pop 2 little bottom teeth out at exactly 6 months. Teethers are more popular than toys at the moment but I always remember to have an extra one in my backpack because I forgot one time and she looked so bored and I felt so bad!
Camilia – This is what we’ve been using for Lily whenever she starts to fuss about her teeth! I carry a pack with me at all times. I love that it is homeopathic and it really seems to work, she actually wants to take it when we go to give it to her.
Extra Socks – The ones linked are STILL my favorite and are amazing at staying on her feet! Though now that she can reach and put her feet in her mouth, they don’t stay on too long unless she’s wearing shoes.
Extra Set of Clothes – Since starting solids, some baby poops have literally destroyed some of clothes to the point that we’ve had to throw them away… Needless to say, this is a must.
Baby Blanket – So I don’t always bring a blanket with me but now that it’s getting cold out, I occasionally bring a warm fuzzy blanket to put on her coming in and out of the house since she’s usually in her carseat and you’re not supposed to buckle your baby in with a coat.
Nursing Pads – Due to changes in Lily’s eating habits, I am still leaking over here at almost 7 months postpartum. I wish I didn’t have to wear a bra all the time but whatever…
Pads – I got my period back at like 3 months postpartum, I know… I’m no fun but at least my cramps are better than they were before! They haven’t really regulated though, so I don’t always know when it’s going to come and I’ve personally never been a huge fan of tampons.
Nursing Cover – So I actually don’t use this one as a nursing cover, Lily is so used to nursing without so I’m really grateful that it doubles as a shopping cart cover. Now that she’s able to sit up in carts, I just put this over it so her toys don’t fall through and to help keep her little fingers away from germs.
Spoutless Sippy Cup – Since starting her on solids and while still breastfeeding, I decided to have sippy cup of water handy for whenever she eats – just to help wash everything down.
Baby Food/Pouch – So, I am making my own baby food and I haven’t quite mastered taking it out with me but I’ve found that Lily really seems to like the pouches too, so for that reason and the fact that I hate not always being able to offer her some of whatever I eat when I go out, I highly recommend having one or the other handy!
Lotion – STILL using my favorite Earth Mama baby lotion!
S’well Bottle – Since I’m still breastfeeding, I’m still super thirsty. You can see me talk about the bottle a little more here, though my husband keeps insisting I need to upgrade to a bigger bottle!
Fun question for the comments… What is the craziest thing you’ve carried in your diaper bag?
