Omg, happy October!! I can’t believe this month is already about halfway done. I’ve been a busy, busy bee lately and I haven’t had a chance to write a new blog post. And don’t, worry I still have more coming for my Breastfeeding 101 series… But I am so excited to share this amazing Beauty Counter Hydrating foundation with you all, I just couldn’t wait any longer!
Recently – if you’ve been following on Instagram – you’d know, I went to my first ever blogging conference. It was for the Mom’s Meet Summit ’19, which just so happened to be right here in Texas!
I had so much fun and I met a lot of really nice moms and talked to some great brands (all the sponsors), it was seriously just the right type of motivation I needed. Anyways, I actually met a great new friend named Kristi. She is a nutritional therapy practitioner and blogger over at Nourish & Nurture Wellness! She is also a Beauty Counter consultant!
Beauty Counter

Actually, it was so funny because I had just got done looking at the Beauty Counter website wondering if they were actually any good, and then I was looking through my Instagram stories and she was talking about them! So she invited me to a little pajama party she was having and I got to try out some of their products. She talked about their mission, what they stand for, and the change they’re trying to make in the industry. They have a thing they call The Never List, on which they list more than 1,500 ingredients that they will never use in their products. And they also, don’t test on animals!

I was struggling to find clean beauty products.
As for me, I’ve been making the switch to all-natural, and better-for-you products. But the one thing, I was struggling to switch out was my make up and beauty products. Actually, a lot of my skincare and hair care products – I’ve made better choices of, but haven’t exactly switch things out all the way. And the reason for that is because it’s so difficult to find products that actually work.
So, I totally get it, “all-natural” products are always a hit or miss. And I promise you, I will always share my honest opinions! But just like with anything else… Everyone’s skin type is different, and what works for me, might not always work for you and vise versa.
This isn’t a sponsored post at all, I actually purchased this all on my own. Though I did win a discount for Beauty Counter at Kristi’s PJ party, so I got a chance to use that! And since I was already out of foundation… I decided to go with the Beauty Counter Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation, in the color Linen.
Saturday was the first day of full-day wear! It has a slight scent… A little floral, maybe, but it wasn’t strong at all and seems to disappear after applying it. At first look, the foundation seemed almost runny – in a thin coverage type of way. But the more I played with it, I realized that the foundation did not separate whatsoever – unlike others I’ve tried. And that the coverage (while still pretty light) was even throughout the entire application process!
Concerning coverage…
So then I was concerned about the coverage being buildable because some times I need more coverage… And surprisingly, it did build without becoming too heavy! However, I do think it will end up using up more product, quicker. I also wonder if it’ll end up sticking to dry patches this coming winter. I actually have smooth skin right now so we will have to see how this goes.
And I probably should have mentioned that I was using a brush for this, not a blender… My goal is to have a final review for you all within the next month or so (see the post HERE). I will note if I see any differences in using different application methods, the issue about the coverage build, and when I (inevitably) break out from my monthly visitor. *Cue my eye roll…

But I am pleasantly surprised by this Beauty Counter hydrating foundation! I guess I didn’t exactly know what to expect from a foundation made by a company that promises to keep so many harmful ingredients out. As weird as it is to admit that? LOL.
I do have to say, and Kristi mentioned it to me too, that it is not technically an “all-natural” product. In order for things to perform highly, as well as or even better than most items on the market today – they do contain man-made ingredients. BUT, they are going to be clean in the sense that they will not give you cancer or be harmful in any way and they are thoroughly tested!
My first impression thoughts.
And I can completely understand that… Of course, I don’t expect any truly natural product to work as well as ones I’ve used in the past. But I am willing to overlook a products effectiveness (to a certain extent) as long as it’s not harmful to me or my family.
And now that I’ve discovered Beauty Counter – I don’t have to! By the way, I’m also trying out the Counter Time products… I only have the samples right now but so far those are feeling pretty good too!
